A mixture of ancient and recently planted woodland on an old World War II air base near North Weald. The ancient woodland, alongside the disused railway, is hornbeam coppice with oak standards. Cowslips and orchids grow in the open grassland within the planted woodland.

Visiting

Access from Pike Way, North Weald, a turning on the left off the B181 as you leave North Weald heading for Epping. On-street parking.

Central line to Epping and 620 bus from there.

Accessible at all times.
